Biography SUSIN NIELSEN got her start feeding cast and crew on the popular television series, "Degrassi Junior High". They hated her food, but they saw a spark in her writing. Nielsen went on to pen sixteen episodes of the hit TV show, and four of the Degrassi books. Since then, Nielsen has written for many TV series, including "Heartland", "Madison", "Ready or Not", "The Adventures of Shirley Holmes", "Edgemont", "What About Mimi" and "Braceface". She also adapted author Susan Juby's book, "Alice, I Think", into a TV series, and co-created and executive produced the adult comedy-drama, "Robson Arms". She’s won a Gemini and two Canadian Screenwriter Awards for her TV work.
