Biography

Maggie de Vries is the author of seven books for children (two upcoming)and one book for adults. She teaches creative writing at UBC and UNBC and does some freelance children's book editing for Orca, Annick and Greystone. She does school visits and writers' workshops with all ages and speaks regularly to adults as well. Maggie lives in Vancouver overlooking the Fraser River with her husband, Roland, and their two cats, Misha and Sophie.

Guest speaker/presentation information

I do author talks with all ages, writers' workshops with middle and upper grades and adults, and talks to high school students about my sister's life (see Missing Sarah). I also speak to adults about Missing Sarah, and at conferences as an author and an editor. I have also served as Writer in Residence on several occasions with both adults and children.

Presentation geographic range: Vancouver, Coast, Lower Mainland, Gulf and Vancouver Islands, Thompson Okanagan, Northern British Columbia, Cariboo Chilcotin Coast, Kootenay Rockies, The Territories, Canada - beyond BC, USA
