Biography
Eileen Kernaghan lives in New Westminster. Her young adult fantasy novel The Snow Queen (Thistledown Press, 2000) won the 2001 Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Award, the Aurora, for best speculative novel in English. Her other YA fantasies are Dance of the Snow Dragon, set in 18th century Bhutan, The Alchemist's Daughter, an Elizabethan adventure , and Wild Talent, set in London and Paris 1888 and 1889.
Eileen's adult historical fantasies include the "Grey Isles" trilogy (Journey to Aprilioth, Songs from the Drowned Lands and The Sarsen Witch), set in bronze-age Europe; and Winter on the Plain of Ghosts (Flying Monkey Press) set in the ancient Indus Valley civilization.
A speculative poetry collection, Tales from the Holograph Woods, was released by Wattle & Daub Books in 2009.
Eileen's poems and short stories have appeared in many North American publications, both mainstream and speculative. She is a member of the west coast speculative writers' group The Lonely Cry. For more information on Eileen's books, go to her website, www.eileenkernaghan.ca
