Glen Huser

Biography Author, illustrator, and educator Glen Huser is a familiar figure to librarians and teachers in Western Canada. A teacher and Learning Resources consultant for many years with Edmonton Public Schools, he developed Magpie, a quarterly magazine featuring student writing and graphics. He also reviewed children’s and young adult literature for the Edmonton Journal from 1982 until 2001. His novels for young adults have been highly acclaimed. Touch of the Clown (1998) was shortlisted for several awards and received a Mr. Christie silver medal. Stitches (2003) won a Governor General’s Children’s Literature Award as well as Alberta’s R. Ross Annett Award. His latest young adult novel Skinnybones and the Wrinkle Queen won a Governor General's silver medal in 2007. With younger students he uses material he developed as a writer for Oz New Media, an online educational resource. His most recent books are aimed at readers in grades 5 through 9.
