Biography

I am a British Columbian and have spent much of my life in Victoria, where my daughter and son, both now in their twenties, grew up. I recently moved to Vancouver and took a position as a bookseller at Vancouver Kidsbooks. A love of history and reading has dominated much of my life. I spent over 20 years as a British and Canadian History instructor with the B.C Open University. During my time with the OU, I wrote courses and served as a Senior Tutor (Department Head). After retiring from teaching, I became a bookseller, first at Bolen Books and then at the University of Victoria. In the past year, I have also had the chance to fulfill one of my dreams, to write (with Sarah Harvey) and publish a children’s book, The West is Calling Imagining British Columbia. I currently have another project in the works with Orca Books.
