Biography
Gerald Holt was born at Gravesend, Kent, England and spent his early boyhood in the Kent coutryside around the village of Pembury watching Allied airman fight the Battle of Britain and later bring down V-bombs aimed at London. During those war years books became gems, treasures to be read by the solitary, dim light in the shelter during air raids.
After the war he was educated at The Choir Scool, Canterbury and later at the King's Scool, Rochester and was a chorister at both ancient cathedrals. After service in the British Army he spent six years in Northern Rhodesia, later to become Zambia.
Gerald emigrated to Canada in 1967, living in Montreal for three years before moving with his wife and four young children to South Surrey/White Rock, B.C. where he still lives today
