Biography

Gillian is the author of 16 books for young readers. Her short stories and articles on nature topics have been published in magazines such as KNOW, CRICKET, and WILD. Her books have appeared on the Canadian Children's Book Centre's 'Our Choice' list, and her short stories have received Saskatchewan Writers Guild awards. Gillian is an instructor for the Institute of Children’s Literature course, Writing for Children and Teenagers. She also writes children's book reviews for CM magazine (online). A Teacher/Librarian in Regina for 11 years, she now writes full time at home in BC. As a founding member of the Children's Writers Round Robin of Saskatchewan, she returns to Saskatchewan each spring and fall for workshops and conferences, and is available for school and library readings.
